Happy Pride Month! Our Favorite LGBTQ+ Organizations
Happy Pride Month!
We love Pride because it's a time of year that the entire LGBTQ+ community comes together to celebrate and to reflect. Over the past decade, our community has made incredible progress; however, we still have a long ways to go. This month, we take a moment to appreciate that progress and acknowledge the road ahead.
We both view coming out as gay as one of the most important decisions of our lives, as well as one of the best. Coming out allowed us to live openly, honestly, authentically; it enabled us to find each other (!); and it brought us closer to our friends and family.
In honor of Pride Month, here are some of our favorite LGBTQ+ organizations. We highly recommend getting involved with some (or all!) of these:
Ali Forney Center: The AFC is the nation's leading shelter for LGBTQ+ homeless youth. One in four homeless youths identifies as LGBTQ+, a shocking statistic; the AFC is fighting the charge in solving this problem.

The Trevor Project: One of the better-known and most-influential LGBTQ+ charities, The Trevor Project operates a national 24-hour, toll free confidential suicide hotline for LGBTQ+ youth.

Larkin Street Youth Services: Larkin Street is doing incredible things for San Francisco's LGBTQ+ youth. We're thankful to have an organization like LSYS in our city.
