Living in a liberal city like San Francisco, where rainbow flags hang in every other storefront, it’s easy to become overly optimistic about how far the world has come in terms of LGBTQ+ rights. Reading about the recent anti-gay campaigns in Egypt and Chechnya over the past few months has served as a chilling reminder of the progress that has yet to be made.

Beach Cleanup with the Surfrider Foundation

Helping the Homeless at St. Anthony's

After moving to San Francisco, we wanted to get involved with helping the local homeless population. We volunteered with St. Anthony's, an organization located in the Tenderloin, one of San Francisco's poorest neighborhoods, and committed to feeding, sheltering, and caring for the homeless.
